Editor's note: China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) is responsible for the construction work on Section 2 and 3 of the Southern Expressway extension from Matara to Hambantota in Sri Lanka – one of the important cooperative projects between the two countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
