Chinese women's table tennis team in class 6-10 defeated Poland in the gold medal competition here on Monday before a women's class 1-3 squad added a second gold at the Beijing Paralympic Games.

Poland's women's class 6-10 team led by Natalia Partyka was the top threat to China in the class. Partyka is the only Paralympic player to have participated in the Olympics last month.

In the individual competitions, Partyka had upset Chinese Fan Lei to claim the women's class 10 crown.

The Chinese changed their tactics against Poland, putting Lei Lina, another class 10 player, in the first game against Partyka. Lei almost surprised the Polish, leading for several times before eventually losing 3-2.

Fan Lei overcame Malgorzata Grzelak to level the score, beating the Polish second singles player in straight sets.

In the doubles clash, Fan and Lei duo took a clear advantage, beating Partyka and Grzelak in 15 minutes.

"I played with my partner only in the European Championships and the World Championships. It's about once a year, so it's really nothing," Partyka said after the match. "Chinese are much better in the doubles. We had no chance."

In the fourth singles, Fan learnt a lesson from her individual final loss to Partyka, downing the Polish star 3-2 to seal China's victory.

"Partyka is really, really strong. She is almost unbeatable. I am really happy to win the match today," Fan said.

Both Fan and her coach, Guo Xijing, spoke highly of Partyka.

"Partyka is an excellent player. Her style is more like men's - fast and powerful. We have a lot to learn from her," Guo said in the post-match press conference, who s also the head coach for all standing players on the Chinese team.

In women's class 1-3, Liu Jing and Li Qian, the gold medalists from class 2 and 3 in the individual events, rallied from 1-0 down to beat Italy 3-1.

Liu and Li thus swept all the three gold medals in the competitions they took part in.

Feng Panfeng and Zhao Ping in men's class 3 defeated Britain and won a bronze medal, after losing to the Brazilians in the semifinals.

The French were the gold medalists in the class.

Chinese men's class 9-10 and women's class 4-5 downed their semifinal opponents, France and Jordan, respectively, and will compete against Spain and Germany in their gold medal matches.

In men's class 1-2, Slovakia subdued France 3-0 for the gold, with South Korea picking up the bronze.

The table tennis team events in the Beijing Paralympics are scheduled for Sept. 13-16. The men's competitions include five classes, combining classes 1-2, 4-5, 6-8 and 9-10 along with class 3, while women's events putting together classes 1-3, 4-5 and 6-10.

In the earlier individual events, Team China swept eight golds out of 16.
