The Beijing Organizing Committee of the 29th Olympic Games (BOCOG) said Friday they will carry out some 1,100 doping tests during the Beijing Paralympic Games.

BOCOG executive vice president and secretary general Wang Wei said around 1,100 tests, including urine and blood samples, will be carried out in the largest ever Paralympic doping control program.

"BOCOG attached great importance to the anti-doping subject for the Paralympic Games. We are going to conduct 1,100 tests, the highest number of sample tests in Paralympic history," Wang told the press.

A number of 680 tests were conducted at the Athens Paralympics in 2004, 420 less than the Beijing Paralympics.

"We have 480 anti-doping officials and staff working for anti doping agencies. And all our anti-doping efforts will be done under the guidance and monitoring of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)," he added.

"We want to make sure the competition is conducted in a fair play and fair platform. So being organizing committee is doing all we can to provide a fair game platform for all Paralympians."
