Two sprinters stunningly finished sub-10 seconds dashes Friday evening in the second round of the men's 100 meters competition of the Olympic Games.
Churandy Martina of Netherlands Antilles created his personal best of 9.99 seconds and qualified for the semifinals before Richard Thompson of Trinidad and Tobago also finished 9.99 seconds.
The 24-year-old Martina is not even one favorite for the sprint, which is tipped to be a battle between world record holder (9.72 seconds) Usain Bolt of Jamaica, Bolt's countryman Asafa Powell and world champion American Tyson Gay.
