Barring any unforeseen circumstance, the four amateur boxers who will represent Nigeria in the boxing event at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will any time from now embark on a European training tour, according the local media report.
Amos Adamu, Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), said plans are in top gear to ensure that all logistics and travel documents that will make the trip hitch-free are ready.
According to him, the sports ministry is preparing the four boxers adequately, adding that the authorities do not want to take any chance hence the need to ensure that the boxers get all they need to enable them do well.
Adamu is optimistic that the training tour will give the boxers the desired edge against their peers when the competition begins next month in Beijing.
