"My dearest wish is to meet a Chinese girl while I'm here in Beijing, fall in love with her and marry her," said 25-year-old Zimbabwean athlete Young Talkmore Nyongani. Although he didn't get past round one in the men's 400 meter competition, he told a Beijing Times reporter that he is having a great time at the Olympics.
"I have already been to China several times; I competed in Shanghai or Hong Kong. Since coming to Beijing, I feel more and more fascinated by China and I really want to find a Chinese girlfriend," he said. "I love Chinese culture."
When asked what kind of Chinese girl he wants to meet, Nyongani seemed a little embarrassed. "She shouldn't be too short. She has to be decent; and I don't like shy girls. She doesn't need to be ultra good looking; beauty is not that important."
"We can start off as friends and then see if we fall in love and want to live together."
When asked "what if she doesn't want to move to Zimbabwe?" he said, "I will take good care of her. We can lead a comfortable life on my income. She can bring her family with her, so she won't be lonely."
Nyongani has placed an advert on the Internet and is hoping that his dream will come true.
