Pakistani forces on Wednesday opened fresh unprovoked firing at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in India-controlled Kashmir, according to India's NDTV.
The firing came a day after army commanders of the two sides met to ease tension following a 16-hour exchange of fire on Monday.
Indian Army spokesman Colonel S.D. Goswami said in Jammu that Pakistan troops fired at the Indian post in Naria in Nowgam sector on Wednesday morning, violating the cease-fire along the LoC.
There were no reports of casualties.
Messages at the level of company commander were conveyed to the Pakistani army to stop firing immediately, said the spokesman.
The conflict happened when a group of Pakistani soldiers crossed the line at around 3:30 p.m. (1000 GMT) Monday. They were waving white flags and expressed opposition to the construction of a bunker by the Indian Army. A heated argument broke out between the two sides, and a Pakistani soldier opened fire, killing one Indian soldier, said the NDTV.
However, Pakistan's military Tuesday denied India's claim that its soldiers had crossed into the Indian-controlled Kashmir, which led to exchange of fire by troops of the two countries.
