Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu said the Chinese side had never revealed the private information of foreign journalists in China.
"We did not post the private information of foreign journalists in China on the Web in the past, and we will not do it in the future," said Jiang while commenting on reports that some foreign journalists in Beijing had recently received harassing phone calls, e-mails and text messages, some with protests or even threats, on Tuesday.
"Our principle for handling the private information of foreign journalists is to facilitate their work while protecting their privacy," said Jiang at a press conference.
The Chinese government will continue to protect the safety and lawful rights of foreign journalists in accordance with the law, she added.
