The Foreign Ministry expressed condolences yesterday to the
Nigerian people for a pipeline explosion on Friday that claimed
more than 200 lives.
"We extend our sympathy and condolences to the Nigerian people,
particularly the families of the dead in the oil pipeline blast,"
the ministry's spokesman Liu Jianchao said.
The pipeline explosion took place at Isanki Island on the
outskirts of Nigeria's economic capital Lagos.
No Chinese were killed in the blast, according to the
ministry.
