Ma, the head of the Chinese delegation to the GSW summit, also thanked for all the support to China's recovery from this serious disaster.
In an exclusive interview with Xinhua in Hanoi on Wednesday, Natividad praised China's quake-relief efforts, saying "I think the Chinese government moved very quickly."
She said "I was so impressed with the response of the people, the people themselves, the kids who want to volunteer."
"I think natural disaster is horrible, (but) I think it's a good moment for Chinese history, it mobilized everyone, from the government to the average citizen," she said in the interview.
Natividad also recalled how she was deeply touched by many incredible stories about Chinese love of family after the devastating 8.0-magnitude quake jolted southwestern Sichuan Province and some other areas on May 12.
As for the impact of the quake on Chinese women and children, she noted that for those women who have lost their husbands and parents, their children, the devastation is total. How to rebuild the economic and personal life is a challenge for them.
The death toll from the earthquake increased to 69,122 as of Wednesday noon, the Information Office of the State Council said. A total of 373,606 people were injured and 17,991 others remain missing in the quake.
