The 2nd Beijing Argentine Tango Festival will open in the capital of China from May 28 to June 2. The festival aims to promote communications and cultural exchanges between Chinese and Argentine citizens through the tango. During the festival, the 2nd China Argentine Tango Championship also will be held for Chinese tango dancers.

Matches will be arranged for both professional and amateur dancers. The winning couple from the professional group will qualify directly for the semifinal at the Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires later in August.

The Beijing Argentine Tango Festival is co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Chinese Association of Argentine Tango, the Embassy of Argentina to China, and the Buenos Aires city government.
