At least 42 people were killed and around 200 people injured in a series of bombing attacks in Baghdad and near the northern city of Mosul on Monday, police source said.
In Baghdad, capital of Iraq, two car bombs targeting construction workers killed at least 17 and wounded another 82, police said.
In northern city of Mosul, at least 25 people were killed and 80 others wounded in two truck bomb explosions, according to police source.
The attacks took place in Shiite-dominated Kazena village, about 20 km southeast of Mosul, in the early morning. Two truck bombs exploded in pairs.
Last week, 38 people were killed and 267 others were wounded in a car bomb explosion in Mosul when worshippers left the Shiite Mosque after their Friday prayer.
Sporadic attacks continue in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities and towns after U.S. combat forces pullout despite low level of violence comparing with the previous years.
