Three passengers, two flying in from Chicago and one from London, have been quarantined by the Indian authorities at New Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia hospital for classical symptoms of A/H1N1 flu infection, reported the local newspaper Times of India electronic edition Saturday.

All three were suffering from cough, cold, fever and upper respiratory infection, said the report.

Doctors at the Indira Gandhi International Airport sent Paramjit Kaur and Jagjivaan Singh, who flew in Friday night from Chicago by an American airline flight, and Ashwini, who arrived Saturday morning from London, to the hospital, said the report.

Paramjit has been suffering with fever for the past 5 days while Jagjivaan has had fever, sore throat and upper respiratory diseases for the past 12 days. The two had also visited affected the American state of Texas, said the report.

Ashwini did not report any visit to affected states but was found to have symptoms.

The report quoted Indian Health Ministry sources as saying since Friday afternoon, five people have been sent to the hospital for final screening on suspected A/H1N1 symptoms.

India earlier dismissed a suspected A/H1N1 case in one passenger from Mexico.
