Up to 15 police stations across Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi have come under attack in the wake of violence, private TV channel DAWN NEWS reported on Thursday.
The Interior Minister Rehman Malik has ordered the increase of deployment of security forces in Karachi where tension still remained after a wave of violence, according to local press report.
The Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh province Qaim Ali Shah has called for a meeting among major political parties at the CM House on Thursday.
Violence erupted in some parts of Karachi on Wednesday when two activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), one of the major political parties in the city, were shot dead.
At least 23 people were killed and some others wounded in the wave of violence.
Qaim Ali Shah and Home Minister of Sindh province Zulfiqar Ali Mirza have issued "shoot at sight" orders to security forces in Karachi.
