A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) reiterated Wednesday that China hoped Nepal could maintain stability and continue to further its peace process.
Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the comments in a meeting with Bharat Mohan Adhikari, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist and Leninist) (CPN-UML)in Beijing.
They exchanged views on stepping up the China-Nepal relations and party-to-party ties under today's new circumstances.
Wang also briefed Adhikari on the achievements made in Tibet since Tibet carried out democratic reforms 50 years ago.
Adhikari said the CPN-UML firmly supported China's Tibet policy, resolutely opposed any activities staged in Nepal which were against China or aimed to split China by any kind of force.
After a decade of civil war, Nepalese political parties overthrew the 240-year Shah monarchy and declared a democratic republic last year.
The CPN-UML is a major coalition party in the government led by the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).
