China would work with Montenegro to push forward bilateral cooperation in various fields, said Vice Premier Wang Qishan?in Beijing?on Wednesday.
Wang made the remarks in a meeting with Montenegro Deputy Prime Minister Vujica Lazovic, who was?in Beijing?to attend the first regular meeting of the China-Montenegro economic and trade joint committee.
Wang expressed gratitude for Montenegro's assistance to China's earthquake-hit region and briefed the guests on current relief work.
Lazovic, on behalf of his government and people, extended sympathy and condolences for the severe loss caused by the natural disaster and said he believed that the Chinese people could overcome the difficulties.
Hailing the growth of China-Montenegro relations since establishing diplomatic ties in 2006, Wang said the two nations enjoy increasing exchanges in politics, economy, trade, culture and tourism.
The Chinese government values relations with Montenegro, Wang said, applauding Montenegro's firm adherence to the one-China policy.
Lazovic expressed hope that his country and China would strengthen cooperation in such areas as energy, transport, infrastructure construction and tourism.
He also wished a success for the Beijing Olympic Games.
