More countries offer condolences to China over earthquake

More countries and international organizations sent condolence messages on Tuesday to Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao, or expressed their sympathies in other ways following Monday's deadly earthquake in southwestern China.

Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom expressed deep condolences for those killed in the quake and sincere sympathy to the families of the victims.

Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker offered his sincere sympathy over the quake and condolences to the Chinese people, particularly the families of the dead, and extended best wishes from the people of Luxembourg at this time of hardship for the Chinese.

Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme expressed his condolences to the Chinese people and deep sympathy with those who have lost their loved ones, especially to bereaved parents.

Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen sent his condolences to the Chinese people, in particular the families of the victims and those affected by the quake, and offered to provide relief assistance.

Expressing grief over those killed in the quake, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk offered his condolences to the victims' families and also expressed solidarity with the Chinese people. Poland's Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said his country was standing by China in its effort to win the battle against the natural disaster.

President of Seychelles James Michel offered his deep sympathy and condolences to the government and people of China, and wished China success in its disaster relief work, saying all Seychellois are with the Chinese people in these trying times.

Nigerian President Umaru Yar' Adua expressed deep sorrow over the huge loss in human life and property, and offered sincere sympathy and support for the Chinese government and people.
