Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing on Wednesday held talks
with his visiting Mauritian counterpart on bilateral ties and other
issues of common concern.
"Since the two countries established diplomatic relations in
1972, China and Mauritius have witnessed stable relations, with
fruitful progress achieved in economy, trade and culture," Li told
Madan Murlidhar Dulloo, Mauritius Minister of Foreign Affairs,
International Trade and Cooperation.
The Chinese government appreciates that the new government of
Mauritius has adhered to the one-China policy since it came into
power last year, Li said.
China hopes the two countries will further cooperate on
politics, economy and international affairs, Li said.
Dulloo said the Mauritian government appreciated the assistance
China offered to Mauritius and other African countries.
The Mauritian government will maintain its one-China policy,
support China's reunification and enhance bilateral cooperation on
various fields, Dulloo said.
Li and Dulloo also exchanged views on the reform of the United
Nations Security Council and other regional issues.
