Eight schools in Lima have been closed indefinitely after some students were tested positive for A/H1N1 influenza, the Peruvian Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
The authorities estimated that there were some 12 infected students at the eight schools.
Since Peru confirmed its first case of A/H1N1 flu in May, the country has reported some 270 cases, 90 percent of whom have recovered and returned to their normal lives.
Until now, Peru has not reported any death from A/H1N1 flu.
