Singapore on Saturday reported another case of mass food poisoning with 12 people being treated as outpatients.
All of such people, who ate at a same local steamboat restaurant on Friday evening, exhibited signs of food poisoning, including vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain, local media reported on Saturday night.
Singapore's Health Ministry and the National Environment Agency are now investigating the incident.
The incident comes in the wake of a recent food poisoning case in the city state, which saw two people dead and more than 150 others affected after consuming food at an Indian Rojak stall in a temporary market.
In a related development, Singapore's Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong on Saturday urged three parties in the country to play their part to prevent a recurrence of such a problem.
Speaking at a community event, Goh said that the government must have the responsibility of reinforcing measures to ensure that eating establishments outside are kept to a higher standard of cleanliness.
The second group of people whom Goh said have to play their part are hawkers and food handlers while the third group of people is the average Singaporean, who must practice proper personal hygiene not just at home but also in public places.
