The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Party's internal anti-graft body, closed its fourth plenary session in Beijing on Saturday, pledging to further step up the anti-corruption campaign.
A communique issued at the end of the session said that the CCDI would work harder in the fight against corruption, improve the Party's work style and build a clean government as the CPC further develops its cause.
The commission would strengthen education on the Party's work style and disciplines among Party members, the document said.
The commission will punish those who crave official positions, sell or buy official positions, and those who try to win votes by bribery, it said.
While resolutely cracking down corruption, the commission promised in the document to beef up education, supervision, reform and innovation in system to effectively prevent corruption.
The commission vowed to make greater efforts to investigate cases concerning abuse of power, corruption and bribery, and dereliction of duties and misconduct which involve leading organs and leading officials.
The CCDI would also probe into corruption behind mass incidents and serious incidents which lead to serious consequences.
The commission would ask leading officials to report personal matters like housing, investment and the jobs of their spouses and children to the commission to beef up self-discipline, and strengthen the management of officials whose spouses and children have emigrated to foreign countries.
It also urged the disciplinary inspection and supervision organs of all levels to realize the importance and urgency of strengthening self-improvement, and called on the cadres to be forever loyal to the Party and country and present an image that is respectable and approachable.
