China cracked 204 fake-money-related cases in May and confiscated fake bank notes worth more than 90 million yuan (about 13 million U.S. dollars), the Ministry of Public Security said Saturday.
Police had arrested 430 suspects involved in the cases and crashed two workshops making fake Chinese money Renminbi, the ministry said.
It also said that police would next focus on tracking the involved suspects who are still at large, as part of a nationwide campaign launched in January to crack down on fake money crimes.
Circulations of fake Renminbi are constantly seen in China. The most impressive case occurred at the beginning of 2009 when fake bank notes, whose codes started with "HD 90," were rampantly spreading across the country.
