China's Central Military Commission (CMC) has appointed Senior Colonel Xu Jinlin to succeed Major General Zhao Cunsheng as political commissar of the Chinese People 's Liberation Army (PLA) Garrison in the Macao Special Administrative region (SAR), a spokesperson of the Garrison announced on Thursday.
According to the order signed by President Hu Jintao, also chairman of the CMC, Major General Zhao Cunsheng will be reassigned to a new post, said Major Yang Yongliang, spokesperson of the PLA Garrison, but he did not specify the new assignment of Zhao.
Before leaving for his new post, Major General Zhao Cunsheng thanked the Macao SAR government and SAR's Chief Executive Ho Hau Wah for their long-time support and caring for his work and the PLA Garrison in Macao SAR, according to the announcement.
Meanwhile, the new political commissar of the Garrison Xu Jinlin said he will lead the PLA Garrison in Macao SAR to make contribution to Macao's long-term prosperity and stability, while strictly abiding by relevant laws.
