The People's Liberation Army should fully implement the tasks on national defense and military construction required by the 17th National Congress of CPC. President Hu Jintao, also chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks when meeting with PLA deputies to the 11th NPC on Monday afternoon.

During the meeting, the PLA deputies analyzed the national and international situation. They agreed that national defense and military construction concerns the overall devepment of the socialism with Chinese characteristics. Hu Jintao stressed that the PLA must be armed with the socialism with Chinese characteristics theorical system.
