Developed and developing countries should join hands to address the global climate change, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said?in Beijing?on Saturday.
"Developed and developing countries should make their own efforts while addressing climate change issues, and cooperate with each other which is key to the success of the climate change conference to be held in Copenhagen this year," Yang said at a press conference on the sidelines of the annual session of China's parliament.
The country would stick to the principle of 'common but differentiated responsibilities', which placed a heavier burden on developed nations, on this issue, he said.
Yang said the Copenhagen conference is of great importance to the world. He urged the international community to follow the Bali Roadmap reached in Indonesia in 2007 and achieve set goals at the Copenhagen conference.
"China will continue to implement its national programs on climate changes, and will honor its commitments to contribute to the success of the Copenhagen conference, Yang said.
