Japanese negotiator to the six-party talks said Tuesday Japan is particularly interested in implementation of the agreement already reached by all sides, especially the process of denuclearization.

 

Kenichiro Sasae, head of the Japanese delegation, who was here to attend the fifth round of the six-party talks scheduled to begin on November 9, said upon arrival that Japan will also express its views on future actions in the talks.

 

A joint statement was adopted at the fourth round of the six-party talks held last month, in which North Korea agreed to abandon all nuclear weapons and existing nuclear programs in exchange for energy aid and security guarantees.

 

Aiming at resolving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, the six parties, including China, the US, Russia, Japan, South and North Korea have held for four rounds of talks since August 2003.
