The anti-Fascist war between the 1930s and 1940s was the first just war of a global scale in human history. It ended in the Axis' unconditional surrender in 1945, 60 years ago. Major Battles The Yunnan-Burma Road built from funds from overseas Chinese became a vital artery connecting China, India and Burma (present-day Myanmar). In February 1942, the Chinese Expeditionary Force went to Burma at the request of the British Government. Dai Anlan, commander of the Chinese 200th Division, died a heroic death when leading his men back to China. Wei Lihuang, commander of the Chinese Expeditionary Force in Burma, discussed battle plans with General Stilwell in Baoshan, Yunnan. The Chinese Expeditionary Force saved the 7,000 encircled British troops in Yenang-yaung, Burma, in an unprecedented victory. Seven brave soldiers of the Chinese air force.
