The anti-Fascist war between the 1930s and 1940s was the first just war of a global scale in human history. It ended in the Axis' unconditional surrender in 1945, 60 years ago. Crimes Against Humanity On December 26, 1941, Hong Kong fell and the Japanese army held an entry ceremony. The Japanese policy of "burning all, killing all and looting all" turned countless peaceful villages into rubble. The Japanese army set fire to countless villages in their "clearing-up" campaigns in rural areas in south China. Japanese troops took pleasure in murdering Chinese people and troops. A village destroyed by the Japanese. Unyielding barbed-wire fences around one of the many "no-man's-lands" created by the Japanese.
