Minister of Environmental Protection
Zhou Shengxian, ethnic Han, a native of Wuzhong in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, was born in December 1949, started work in July 1968, and joined the CPC in 1972. He is a postgraduate from the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.
He formerly served as Deputy Magistrate of Tongxin County, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tongxin County Committee, Secretary of the CPC Xiji County Committee, Member of the CPC Guyuan Prefectural Committee, Deputy Secretary-General, and Secretary-General of the Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
May 1993: Vice Chairman of the Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Apr. 1998: Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Committee; Executive Vice Chairman of the Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Feb. 1999: Vice Director of the State Forestry Administration; Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Group of the State Forestry Administration.
Nov. 2000: Director of the State Forestry Administration; Secretary of the Leading Party Group of the State Forestry Administration.
Dec. 2005: Director of the State Environmental Protection Administration; Secretary of the Leading Party Group of the State Environmental Protection Administration
