Animal keepers put a dog named Sai Hu in the monkey's area when they found a baby chimp was being bullied by adult monkeys.
The monkey baby immediately began to shadow the sympathetic pooch, climbing onto its back and seeking protection from others.
Sai Hu now acts as something of a policeman, even fighting back the monkey king when he tries to throw his weight around.
The peculiar scene attracts more and more curious visitors each day.
