Biggest hydropower station in Guizhou starts debugging

The Goupitan hydropower station, a key part of the "west-east power transfer" project, is the largest of its kind to be built in the history of Guizhou Province in southwest China.

It has a total installed capacity is 3 mln kilowatts. There are five hydro-generating units altogether. The capacity of a single unit reaches 600,000 kilowatts. At present, the first unit is at the debugging phase, and will be put into production in the second half year.

The other four are still under going installation. The photo shows the Goupitan hydropower station dam amid mountains.
