An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude struck near Ryukyu Islands at 0017 GMT Saturday, according to a bulletin released by Hong Kong Observatory.
The epicenter of the quake was initially determined to be at 28.9 north latitude and 130.9 east longitude, about 300 km south of Kagoshima, Japan.
