Beijing's Botanical Garden in the northwest of the city is providing more than just a breath of fresh air as it hosts the National Science and Technology festival from Sept. 19 to 26.

Beijing Botanical Garden hosts this year's Science and Technology Festival

The themes of this year's festival are saving energy and natural resources, protecting the environment and healthy living. The festival is a country-wide event organized every September by China Association for Science and Technology.

Six visitor areas offer exhibits and explanations of scientific and technological achievements, and even the chance to carry out experiments. Visitors will not only be able to view rare plants in the gardens, but also examine them under a microscope. There is also delicious grape juice on offer as part of a drive to promote healthy living.

Fresh grape juice not only tastes good but promotes a healthy life style. [Wu Huanshu /China.org.cn]
