Myanmar is projecting to build a massive system to provide solar energy to a hotel-transformed private hospital, the local Pyi Myanmar News reported Tuesday.

Transformed from the Royal Ruby Jade hotel, the private hospital will have about 340 solar cell panels to ensure 24-hour electricity supply.

The hospital will seek foreign doctors to treat the patients who will be provided with hotel-style service.

In 2010, the state-run Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise and the PTTEP International Ltd of Thailand, working in partnership in Myanmar's Mottama offshore oil field, donated to a village in Bago region equipment for solar power generation under the socio - economy enhancement program.

The donation is aimed at furnishing the village's basic education high school and station hospital with 24-hour electricity through sunlight.

Meanwhile, Myanmar will run all communication-related mobile stations with electrical equipment operated by solar system, according the State Posts and Telecommunication.

Some mobile stations have test-run with solar energy in September, 2010, which proved successful and the project is being extended countrywide.

Solar energy system was introduced in Myanmar in 2003.
