The government of Zhangbei County, Hebei Province, and Hebei New Energy Development will establish a 200-megawatt solar power program that will be the largest in the world.

This 3.6-billion-yuan program will be established in Gonghui. The planning area is about 9 square kilometers and will have two solar power plants with a total production capacity of 200 megawatts. The design and installation of metering equipment will be finished in July 2010. After testing for a year, construction will begin.

Zhangbei County receives the most sunshine in the Hebei. Its average total radiation is 5,860 megajoules.
