Taiwan theater director Stan Lai restaged his famous iconic play "Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land" in Beijing on Saturday.
Stan Lai, or Lai Shengchuan, invited actress Sun Li to join the crew and to play opposite her husband, actor Huang Lei in the play, China News Service reported.
This amiable couple - a rarity in the entertainment industry - played tragic lovers who eventually split up. Their great performance moved the audience into tears, the report said.
When the actors answered curtain calls, Huang hugged his wife to express his appreciation and encouragement amid applause from the audience.
