The shooting of the animated cartoon series "The Flooding of Jinshan Temple" will soon start in Zhenjiang City in Jiangsu Province, reported the Beijing Star Daily.
"The Flooding of Jinshan Temple", or "Legend of the White Snake" is a folk tale that originated in Zhenjiang.
In the tale, Fa Hai, a monk of Jinshan Temple, destroyed the marriage between the white snake and her husband. Failing to ask the monk for her husband, the white snake, with her magic power, flooded the temple.
Directed by famous director Chen Jiaqi, the series is planned to have 200 episodes. The first 52 episodes will be broadcasted by the end of next year and each episode will last for about 22 minutes.
The newspaper also reported that the cartoon series will devote more to the struggle between the good and the evil on basis of the folk tale.
