Operators of subway or light rail trains in Beijing will have the right to temporarily stop service when encountering severe weather, natural disaster or other emergency situations.
This will take effect on June 1st.
To further improve safety, before a rail project goes into full operation, it should be given one year of test runs, with no passengers for the first three months.
In addition, railway staff will receive more training on rapid response to emergencies.
