More Dust Storms to Hit North China

More dusty weather will sweep north China in the next few days, after Beijing was hit Monday by its strongest sandstorm so far this year.

The Central Meteorological Station says dust-laden winds are going to hit north China in the next ten days, and some regions will see sandstorms.

Beijing was struck Monday by its worst duststorm so far this year, while strong sandstorms reduced visibility to less than 300 meters in the Inner Mongolia and north China's Shanxi Province.

Drought and desertification in north China account for the frequent dust and sand storms, especially in the spring, in recent decades.
