Dragonair to Resume 91 Percent of SARS-affected Flights

Hong Kong-based carrier Dragonair will resume in September 91 percent of its scheduled flights that were canceled amid the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak, the airline company said.

Another 27 flights remain closed for the time being, according the company.

Dragonair suffered to some extent during the SARS crisis which scared away tourists and business people from Hong Kong, the city hardest hit by the virus.

It has resumed 49 flights a week to Beijing and increased flights to Shanghai from 60 to 67.

Although revenues are still low, the company expects its revenues to return to pre-SARS levels before the end of September as the market has gradually stabilized.
