Wealthy Chinese have new views on consumption
Adjust font size:

According to a public poll, wealthy Chinese today have various views on consumption, instead of saving their fortunes for offspring's sake.

The poll was conducted by American Express in Shanghai and Beijing, covering wealthy residents, suppliers and the holders of famous brands.

Wealthy Chinese today work very hard only to enjoy life themselves, as a good fortune is necessary for better life quality. They don’t plan to leave their fortune to their children in the form of heritage.

Secondly, most of them appreciate the experience of new things, and they would spend a great deal of money to try anything new. Besides, they have a sharp sense to predict the appearance of the new things or new chances that can help them to increase their wealth.

They are also very fashionable. They are never content with current life, but they want to enjoy fashionable things from all around the world.

Wealthy Chinese also want world-class service from local suppliers.

Though they enjoy all sorts of comforts in life, most of them don’t forget their social responsiblities.

By 2011, there will be 4.2 million wealth Chinese each with personal circulating assets of at least $300 thousand, while the figure in 2006 was 2.24 million. The number of millionaires will increase from 467 thousand in 2006 to 908.1 thousand.
