Want to drive a BMW or Mercedes-Benz on a European expressway? One online Chinese travel operator is offering you an opportunity to do so.

 

Online travel service provider Ctrip.com has launched a self-drive package tour to Germany and Austria. Targeting the middle-aged clients with high salaries, the package tour is priced at 21,800 yuan, or about US$2,725, Xinmin Evening News reported.

 

Tourists booking the package will fly to southern Germany's Munich, where there they be provided with a car from a local auto dealer. Tang Yibo, a chief official from the company, says tourists can pick a car from the Mercedes- Benz's E or BMW 5 series.

 

Each car is equipped with a GPS receiver and a walkie-talkie to track exact locations to eliminate worries about getting lost in a foreign country.

 

The catch is tourists booking the package must be older than 21, have a valid driver's license and driving skills.
