Polish airports served more than 14. 2 million passengers in the 11 months of 2006, up 33 percent from comparative period of 2005.
The Polish Civil Aviation Authority (ULC) told the PAP news agency on Thursday that regional airports had reported a 65 percent (2,623,000) growth in the number of passengers and dominated more than 47 percent of the market (from 38 percent in 2005).
By the end of November 2006, the capital Warsaw's Frederic Chopin airport served more than 7,529,000 passengers, or 53 percent of the overall number of travelers.
According to the ULC the aviation market in Poland will develop dynamically for the coming years, serving 22 million passengers in 2010 and 41 million in 2020. In 2030 the number may jump to over 63 million.
