The National Airports Corporation of Zambia has taken a new mode to collect air passenger service charges through ticket sales instead of collecting the fee on departure.

 

Public relations manager of the corporation Geoffrey Chipolyonga said in Lusaka on Tuesday in a press statement that the move is in line with global aviation trends.

 

Chipolyonga said, however, the arrangement is only applicable to International Air Transport Association affiliated airlines.

 

He said the new arrangement will help smoothen traveling in all major airports of the country.

 

Current air passenger charges are US$25 for international departure and US$8 for local departure.
