Singapore and Ireland concluded an Open Skies Agreement on Wednesday, which will allow airlines of both countries to fly on any route between and beyond the two countries without restrictions in capacity, frequency or aircraft type.

 

According to a statement released by Singapore's Transport Ministry, the agreement was signed by Choi Shing Kwok, permanent secretary of the Transport Ministry and Ireland's Ambassador to Singapore Richard Obrien.

 

The statement said that Singapore and Ireland have a healthy bilateral cargo growth.

 

Singapore Airlines Cargo currently operates three weekly cargo flights between Singapore and Dublin in Ireland.

 

In the first ten months of this year, cargo movements between the two countries registered a growth of 46 percent compared to the same period of last year.

 

Singapore has open skies arrangements with a total of 17 countries to date.
