The death toll rose to eight after an old over-bridge fell on a crowded train Saturday morning in north Indian state Bihar, according to the local TV channel Times Now.

 

The TV news footage said that rescuers have found eight bodies and 35 people have been rescued, among whom four were in critical conditions.

 

The news quoted railway officials as saying that about ten people were still trapped inside the coach.

 

According to eyewitnesses, the train was slowly reaching the Bhagalpur railway station when the 150-year-old over-bridge suddenly fell down on the coach number 8, damaging it extensively.

 

Indian Railway Minister Lalu Yadav has ordered an inquiry into the accident and two railway officials have been suspended.
