Two top executives at China Eastern Airlines, one of the country's largest carriers, have been fired for allegedly "breaking the law," the company said Thursday.

 

Wu Jiuhong and Tong Guozhao, both deputy general managers at the Shanghai-based company, are "under investigation by authorities for being suspicion of breaking the law," the company said in a statement.

 

"The case only involves Wu and Tong, and it will not affect the operations of the company," it said.

 

Wu has served as the company's deputy general manager since April 2002 and Tong, since April 2005.
