Treasure Displayed at Imperial Palace Museum

The Imperial Palace Museum held an exhibition on Monday to display some of the collections it kept over the past 10 years as part of the celebration of its 80 birthday. The Hall of Military Prowess also opened for the first time.

Since 1994, the Imperial Palace Museum has collected about 700 new items of calligraphic works and stone rubbings. Some of these were donated by collectors, such as the Painting of Chunshan Boat Rowing and the Songguitang Calligraphy Model. Others were bought at low prices.

The just-established Ancient Potter Research Center held its first exhibition where pottery made in Qing imperial kilns, samples of ancient Chinese kilns and materials related to pottery were displayed.

Also, the Hall of Military Prowess held its first exhibition. Here people could see some of the classic books kept in the Qing Dynasty. The Qing Emperors’ favorite reading books and official compilation were also exhibited. Visitors who are interested in finding out how royal books were finely bound would also take a worthy tour.
