A nationwide campaign under the name, the 10,000-mile tourist design activity, kicked off on Sunday in Wugang city in central China's Hunan province.
The campaign aims to promote the design of images, brand names and marketing strategies in various domestic tourist spots.
Senior tourist designing expert, professor Wu Bihu from Peking University said the country needed a big designing action to promote an overall, nationwide tourist structure in the country. He said the aim of the activity was to make tourist design be the core force to boost tourism development.
By promoting the campaign, Wu hoped that the principles, knowledge and consultation of tourist design could be brought to attention. To do so, three or five experts from the recent-established top class tourists design organization will spend their weekends or holidays to go to the destinations where consultation services are badly needed.
A tourist development forum was held in Wugang, the first leg of the campaign and a designing report on Wugang tourism industry was passed at the forum.
