Huge torrential rain once interrupted tourists from climbing the Lushan Mountain. The scenic spot resumed open to public on Wednesday and the re-opening attracted large number of tourists to flock to the site.
A staff member at Lushan tourist bureau told reporters that typhoon Talim brought huge torrential rain to the mountainous area since the beginning of this month and caused landslides at various places.
Traffic to roads leading up to the peak at northern and southern slopes was both canceled for a while and all scenic spots were once closed for safety reason.
The Lushan tourist administrative body went to the site after the rain and displaced 3,100 local residents living in Lushan district and the nearby Guling Street.
No tourists were reportedly dead. However, seven people died of sever injury caused by landslides. The road at the southern slope was open to traffic and large number of tourists began climbing up the mountain on Tuesday under sunny weather.
